Denmark’s total exports dropped 2.6% in October compared with September, according to the latest figures from Statistics Denmark. Despite the monthly decline, exports over the past 12 months were up 5.1% compared with the previous year.

Goods vs. services

Goods exports fell 3.8% in October, while services dropped 0.9%. The decrease in goods was mainly due to a 4.5% fall in exports of goods crossing the Danish border. In services, the decline was driven by a 3.5% drop in sea transport.

Looking at the first ten months of 2025, exports of goods and services were still 3.5% higher than the same period in 2024, supported by strong growth in goods that do not cross the Danish border.

Quarterly trends

Over the past three months, exports edged up 0.2% compared with the preceding three months. This slight increase was due to a 9.7% rise in exports of goods not crossing the Danish border, partly offset by a 4.5% drop in goods crossing the border. Service exports grew 1.8% over the same period. On an annual basis, exports rose 5.1%, led by a 14.1% increase in goods not crossing the Danish border.

Exports to the EU27

In monetary terms, exports in the first ten months of 2025 grew by DKK 60.1 billion (3.5%) compared with the same period last year. Exports to the EU27 rose by DKK 26.8 billion (3.7%), while exports to the United States climbed by DKK 18.4 billion (6.5%). However, seasonally adjusted exports to the U.S. fell by DKK 4.1 billion (11.6%) in October compared with the same month last year.
